The area around The Green in central Acocks Green is where most of the general and high-street retail shops are located. Here you will find a Boots chemist, Sainsburys supermarket, Aldi and Wilkinsons. There is also a library, a bowling alley and numerous pubs and takeaways. The Acocks Green area boasts several good restaurants and you can choose from Indian, Italian, Greek and Irish, amongst others.
Acocks Green boasts numerous parks and green spots, including Fox Hollies Park in the south which is home to a man-made lake and a Bronze Age burnt mound with scheduled ancient monument status.
Acocks Green has seven churches and the Ghamkol Sharif Mosque. There is a large cultural diversity in Acocks Green (as in all of Birmingham) with a mix of people from all religions and races.

The vibrant and lively Birmingham is the UKs second city with plenty to see and do.
For world class shopping visit the Mailbox or Bullring centres where you will find both designer and high-street stores such as Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, Armani Exchange, DKNY, Topshop, Mango and Next.
Culture lovers should make a visit to the Symphony hall with it's amazing acoustics, take in a fun musical at the Hippodrome or some drama at the Rep theatre. For modern art the Ikon Gallery in Brindleyplace is well worth a visit, while the Museum and Art Gallery on Chamberlain Square has a wonderful collection of Pre-Raphaelite paintings.
The Sea Life centre at Brindleyplace or the IMAX cinema and science museum at Millenium Point will keep energetic children amused for hours.
